Monte has been in the broadcasting industry for over 20 years. Originally from Wichita, KS, he caught the broadcasting bug when he was a kid, and is an avid music lover who enjoys listening to all genres of music. That’s one of the reasons why he got into radio, to share his love and knowledge of music with the audience.

 

Monte started out as a mobile DJ helping a friend with his DJ business. In 1991, two weeks before graduating high school, Monte was hired at radio station KBUZ-99.1 in Wichita, KS as a weekend/fill-in personality. He later moved to Dallas, TX in 1992 to pursue a career in broadcasting, and in August that same year was hired at KJMZ (100.3 Jamz). His career included stints at KRBV (V-100), 1190 KDFX, KWRD-The Word 94.9 FM, and Salem Radio Network, where he currently works as a NOC (Network Operations Center) Technician. In 1999, Monte saw a career move to satellite radio working for the ABC Radio Networks (Now Westwood One) where he worked for 10 years as an on-air personality on their Urban AC format “The Touch” and Technical Producer for the radio program “The Love Zone with Mel Devonne” He currently has some projects in the works that you’ll be hearing about soon which includes branching into the exciting world of voiceover, so Stay Tuned!
